Cricut for Christmas

I got a Cricut Expression machine for Christmas. It's been fun to mess around with, although the office is such a post-Christmas mess that I'm not really full-on crafting again yet.

I will say, though, that the cartridges seem to be worth the price. I was skeptical, but they have a lot of flexibility and creative potential.

I bought mine from a website called CustomCrops. Their prices were close to half off retail and they've had good customer service and decently fast shipping on the orders I've placed.

I did cut out a few "Thank You" phrases and snowflakes and let the kids decorate their own Thank You cards for their Christmas presents. That made for a fun and really chaotic afternoon.

  1. Woo! I got one, too! I'm so ready to scour the web for all kinds of Valentine cricut projects. If you see fun ones, let me know! Have you seen the Sure Cuts a Lot software? I'm so tempted, but nervous for some reason.

  3. Julie, I haven't checked these comments ever! I have heard of Sure Cuts a Lot and feel the same way as you. I want to put Photoshop Elements or Adobe Illustrator on this computer before getting Sure Cuts a Lot, even though I don't really need it. I'm hesitant for some reason.

Kristina Werner ( kwernerdesign.com/blog ) is a fabulous card maker and has a few SVG files available. Also, Two Peas in a Bucket has some for free.
